Formula 1 Headquarters, St James’s Market, London

The challenge

Formula One were consolidating three workplace locations and separate business units to a new corporate home in St James, London, within six months to align with existing lease breaks. Formula One was in a transitional phase due to recent organisational changes. This presented governance and change management challenges. A successful relocation to a new workplace with ‘everyone under one roof’ would create huge benefits in terms of collaboration, whilst underpinned with workplace technology to allow their global business to operate productively.

Our solution

We saw this relocation as more than a workplace fit-out; it required a strategic approach to consolidating multiple locations into a new single corporate headquarters. We proposed a fully outsourced programme director who had the skills and experience to deliver all aspects of the transformation. This included the lease transaction, design, construction, people moves, and stakeholder management and liaison.

Our approach focused on understanding the importance of the F1 brand and how we could enable collaboration in the new workplace. We supported the project team ensuring the right investment was made in the workplace alongside the provision of improved facilities and technology to benefit the business in the longer term.

We successfully achieved first day of business on programme and ensured existing locations were handed back on time without holdover penalties.

Thank you for both the hard work and a job well done. We are absolutely thrilled with the new space. It provides a comfortable yet efficient setting while capturing the energy and excitement of Formula 1. The new home is a critical step in enabling Formula 1 to grow and fulfil our long term goals. Thanks, again.
